QUESTIONS ON TAKING HOODIA

When should I take Hoodia?

We suggest that Hoodia be taken about an hour before meals with a large glass of water.

How much should I take?

The recommended dose is 1 capsule on each occasion. Some people do better with a higher dose, so if after a few days you feel the effect has not been strong you can increase the dose to try and right the right level for you.

What's the most I can take?

Typical consumption of Hoodia is 2 capsules a day (500mg). Some people do require more than others to get it to work for them, but this does not mean taking Hoodia in huge amounts. If you think it necessary to take more, try increasing the dose gradually rather than swallowing a fistful of capsules.

Can I overdose?

Remember that Hoodia is a food and not a drug. There is no known dose which would constitute an overdose.

How long does it take to work?

It depends on your individual biochemistry. For many people the effect is immediate or fairly immediate, but for others it can take a week or two to start working. Give Hoodia a chance to kick in before you start playing around with the dosage, as it does sometimes need some time to have the desired effect upon you.

Should I take Hoodia all the time?

It's advisable to take Hoodia every day to achieve the results you are looking for. Try and take it consistently and remember that Hoodia is a food and not a drug to avoid taking if you feel you don't really need it. A natural food like Hoodia may take an hour to work, it may take 3 days or it may take 2 weeks or more. If you don't get immediate results try and stay with it and hopefully you will be rewarded by eventually finding your interest in food reduced.

What's the longest it could take to work?

Some people have reported the appetite suppressing effect kicking in even at 4 or 5 weeks, but this is not very common. For the majority of users the effects are usually felt within the first week and sometimes within the first hour.

How much weight can I lose?

Hoodia is an appetite suppressant which should reduce the amount of food you eat and the number of calories you receive. How much weight you lose will depend on how many less calories you consume and how long you take Hoodia for. If you bear in mind that a pound of body fat is the equivalent of about 3500 calories, then you will at least know how many calories you need to reduce consumption by by in order to lose a certain amount of weight. For example, a saving of 500 calories a day should translate into a weight loss of a pound in a week.

Can Hoodia be taken when pregnant?

The effect of Hoodia on humans has been studied with a very positive outcome, both in terms of efficacy for appetite control and of safety of the product. However, this study did not include women who were pregnant or breastfeeding, so the effects of Hoodia are unknown in these circumstances. It should be pointed out anyway that reducing calorie intake during pregnancy or breastfeeding is generally not recommended.

Can it be taken by children?

The effect of Hoodia on adult humans has been studied with a very positive outcome, both in terms of efficacy and safety. Whether the effect on children would be any different is unknown. However, the Kalahari Bushmen have always allowed their children to eat Hoodia.
